Corn Production
- Southern Rust Confirmed in Southern Nebraska; (and Other Corn Diseases). Southern rust has been confirmed in several counties in south central and southeast Nebraska. Disease incidence was low in these fields; however, warm temperatures and high humidity may promote development and spread of the disease. Scouting is recommended.
- Drought, Heat, and Potential Effects on Corn Pollination. Dry conditions may disrupt corn pollination in some dryland fields this year as plants struggled to silk. The issues this year will be with silking and silk timing.
