  • Dry Edible Bean Production up 38% from 2013. Dry edible bean production in Nebraska is forecast at 3.8 million cwt for 2014, up 38% from last year. Nebraska ranks first in the nation in great northern bean production and third in overall dry edible bean area planted, area harvested, and overall production.

Bastiaanssen, professor of global water accounting for UNESCO-IHE and professor of civil engineering and geosciences at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands, will discuss using remote sensing data to analyze important water management problems and drive agricultural decision-making. The seminar will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday Dec. 15 on UNL's East Campus.
