Registration is now open for the 2017 Youth Crop Scouting Competition to be held this August in eastern Nebraska. The contest is open to FFA and 4-H club members and will help  those interested in crops test their skills and those new to crops better understand crop production.

Youth Corn Challenge Offers Real-World Experience, Rewards

Winners of the 2016 Nebraska Innovative Corn Challenge for Youth were recently announced and the top prize went to the Kornhusker Kids 4-H Club of Cuming County. Challenge participants learned valuable lessons in production ag, research, teamwork, and problem-solving while competing for cash prizes made possible by the Nebraska Corn Board.

Two Crop Judging Teams Move on to Regionals

August 18, 2016
Testing their knowledge and their skills, Nebraska ag students got "real world" crop scouting experience and educational feedback from experts during the Nebraska Youth Crop Scouting Competition Aug. 2 at the UNL Agricultural Research and Development Center near Mead. Two teams -- a Colfax County 4-H team and a Humphrey FFA team -- won first and second places, respectively, and will advance to regional competition in Iowa Aug. 30-31.
