USDA Announces Dates for Conservation Reserve Program General and Grasslands Signup

The USDA has set a Friday, July 23, 2021, deadline for agricultural producers and landowners to apply for the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) General signup 56. The FSA will accept applications for CRP Grasslands from Monday, July 12 to Tuesday, Aug. 20.
FSA Opens Emergency CRP Grazing, Sign-up for ECP

This week FSA approved emergency grazing of Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) acres for all Nebraska counties through April, and that 45 counties would be accepting applications for the Emergency Conservation Program (ECP).

Prescribed burning CRP or pasture can improve stands, prepare them for interseeding, control weeds and trees, enhance wildlife habitat, and improve forage quality, but it must be done safely. The best time is from mid-April to early May when warm season grasses are just starting to grow.
