USDA NASS to Collect 2020 Crop Production and Stocks Data

As the 2020 growing season comes to an end, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) will contact producers nationwide to gather final year-end crop production numbers and the amount of grain and oilseeds stored on their farms.
USDA Nebraska Harvest Projections up from 2019

Based on November 1 conditions, Nebraska's 2020 corn crop is forecast at a record 1.82 billion bushels, up 2% from last year's production. Soybean production is forecast at 299 million bushels, up 5% from last year. Sorghum production is forecast at 12.4 million bushels, up 3% from last year. And sugarbeet production is forecast at 1.48 million tons, up 38% from last year.
Nebraska Crop Progress and Condition for Oct. 11

Corn harvested was 34% which is ahead of average, while soybean harvest was well ahead of average at 82%, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. Winter wheat was 89% planted and 60% emerged. Sorghum harvested was 31% and dry edible beans harvested was 87%.
Corn, Soybean Harvest Continues Ahead of Normal

Corn and soybean harvest continued ahead of the five-year average with 21% of corn and 55% of soybean harvested. Winter wheat planted was 80% (near the average) with 33% emerged, which is behind the average. Sorghum and dry bean harvest were slightly ahead of average, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service.
USDA Nebraska Crop Production Forecast

Based on September 1 conditions, Nebraska's 2020 corn crop is forecast at 1.78 billion bushels, down slightly from last year's production, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. Area harvested for grain, at 9.45 million acres, is down 4% from a year ago. Average yield is forecast at 188 bushels per acre, up 6 bushels from last year.
Early Forecasts Indicate Record Nebraska Corn Harvest

Based on August 1 conditions, Nebraska's 2020 corn production is forecast at a record 1.80 billion bushels, up 1% from last year's production. Soybean production in Nebraska is forecast at 307 million bushels, up 8% from last year.
USDA Crop Progress Report, Aug. 10

Corn condition is rated 78% good to excellent, 67% dough stage and 14% dented, well ahead of last year and the average. Soybean condition is rated 81% good to excellent and 81% are setting pods, also ahead of average. Sorghum and dry edible beans continue to progress ahead of this time last year as well, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service.

Corn is rated 75% good to excellent and progressing ahead of the five-year average. Soybean is rated 80% good to excellent and also progressing ahead of the five-year average, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. The winter wheat harvest is nearly complete (93%) and dry edible beans are progressing ahead of the previous year.
