Nebraska Wheat Forecast Drops 9%

May 15, 2009 Based on May 1 conditions, Nebraska's 2009 winterwheat crop is forecast at 67.2 million bushels, down 9% from last year's crop, according tothe USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service, Nebraska Field office. Average yield isforecast at 42 bushels per acre, down 2 bushels from last year but 2 bushels above the 10-yearaverage.
