Nebraska temperatures last week averaged up to 10 degrees above normal, causing dryland crop stress in areas where there was little or now recent rainfall, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service Sept. 8 report. Crop growth was progressing and only slightly behind normal in several categories.
Southern Rust Confirmed in Southeast Kansas – Monitor Corn Fields in Nebraska

Southern corn rust has been confirmed in five counties in southeast Kansas. The disease has not yet been confirmed in Nebraska. Spores from the disease in locations south of Nebraska will likely be blown into the state and cause disease somewhere in the coming weeks.
