Would solar energy be a good option for your farm, ranch or rural home? What should you consider when weighing the costs and benefits?

A Feb. 17 seminar on Solar Electric Systems: Considerations for Installing Photovoltaic Solar Systems will cover information on its use to help you answer these questions. Participants will learn how to use basic online tools to model their own locations and learn about economic considerations such as payback, grants, tax credits, and depreciation.

F. John Hay, Nebraska Extension educator for bioenergy, will provide information on grid-tied solar photovoltaic systems, economics, basic design considerations and feasibility. The program will be from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Friday, February 17, in Seward at the Jones National Bank and Trust Basement Auditorium, 203 S. 6th St.
