Don’t Miss Nebraska’s Only Agricultural Drone Conferences on Aug. 14 and 15

Drone experts and practitioners from around the country will assemble at the West Central Research, Extension, and Education Center in North Platte, Nebraska to share knowledge and network at two drone conferences hosted by Nebraska Extension.

The two-day event will start with the 2nd Annual Drones in Agriculture Conference on Wednesday, Aug. 14. Jonathan Rupprecht, Esq. of Rupprecht Law, P.A., will be the keynote speaker for the first day of conferences. He is a lawyer, commercial pilot, and flight instructor who combines these experiences to help businesses and individuals navigate the complex system of laws for unmanned aircraft systems.

The event will conclude with the 2nd Nebraska Spray Drone Conference on Thursday, Aug. 15. Dr. Steve Li, Auburn University associate professor and extension specialist of weed science, will be the keynote speaker on the last day of the conferences. His research team works on evaluating the application efficiency of spray drones and understanding how to optimize flight and spray parameters to mitigate spray drift.

In addition to these keynote speakers, the conferences will feature professionals from the Federal Aviation Administration, Nebraska Department of Agriculture, Nebraska Extension, Pix4D, Lifted Vision, and Aurora Cooperative. Spray drone demonstrations will be provided by Agri Spray Drones and Volitant Drone Technology Solutions.
