Responsible for planning, implementing, and coordinating on-farm research activities primarily related to soil fertility, precision ag, and nitrogen management. The position will oversee the implementation of field research studies located on multiple farmer cooperator sites. Duties include developing research study plans and protocols including developing georeferenced prescription files for variable rate controllers, collecting data and samples, and processing of geospatial precision ag data files. Other duties include statistical analysis and the reporting of results. The candidate will be expected to maintain communications with cooperating farmers, graduate students, extension educators, and principal investigators across disciplines (agronomy, soil science, remote sensing, and biosystems engineering). Additional responsibilities include training and supervising temporary employees and operation and maintenance of research equipment. Position is located in Scottsbluff.
