Researchers from 10 north central states, including Nebraska, are collecting the data to identify factors that may be impeding growers from reaching full yield. 6 Nebraska Wheat Variety Tours

Nebraska wheat growers can view and compare current and experimental wheat varieties and hear from researchers and specialists at six UNL Wheat Variety Trials to be held this June in west central Nebraska and the Panhandle. The June 15 tour at the Stumpf Wheat Research center at Grant will also include a field pea plot tour and presentations.

Using Chemigation for In-Season N Application

Heavy spring rains may have leached nitrogen from some soils. In-season chemigation applications can provide nitrogen when the plant most needs it and reduce the potential for leaching. To use chemigation, users must meet two major requirements: they must be certified to use chemigation and pollution prevention equipment must be installed at each injection location and inspected and approved by the local NRD.
