Advances in ag technology and recommendations for its use were among the topics at the 2013 Nebraska Agricultural Technologies Association (NEATA) Conference held in Grand Island.

The February 13 pre-conference symposium included seven presentations related to variable-rate technologies and techniques for improving water, seed, and nutrient management on the farm.

The February 14 general session featured a unique blend of over 15 speakers from industry, academia, and government agencies.

The keynote speakers included:

• Ronnie Green, NU vice president and IANR Harlan vice chancellor, who spoke on "Ag is Sexy and NU Knows It;"
• John Fulton, associate professor at Auburn University, who spoke on "Ag Technology Roadmap to Support U.S. Crop Production;" and
• Kylen Hunt, PDS Manager, Cropmetrics, on "The Purpose of Precision."
