Douglas Anderson, Extension Educator in Keith, Arthur and Perkins counties: Wheat is green and growing by leaps and bounds. A nice rain last Friday night and Saturday provided 0.75-1.5 inches across the area. There's light field work as producers gear up for planting. Pastures are greening somewhat but growth of cool-season grasses remains slow.

Paul Hay, Extension Educator in Gage County: A week of dry open days has helped producers catch up on wheat and pasture spraying and fertilizer applications. Most dealers are reporting three to four days to finish and move on to early preplant treatments. Corn planters are in the shops and seed deliveries are going strong.

Karen DeBoer, Extension Educator in Cheyenne County: Wheat in the southern Panhandle, for the most part, is coming out of dormancy well. There are a few spots where wheat does not look good, but overall it is looking good right now.
