Farm Bill and Crop Insurance Update Monday Morning, March 9

March 6, 2009

With all the new policies and changes to the farm bill, understanding the options will be more important than ever this year. To provide updated information on the farm bill and address producer questions, UNL Extension is sponsoring an on-line program, "Building the Revenue Bridge — Farm Bill 2008." It will be from 10 to 11:15 a.m. Monday, March 9.

Speakers will include Steve Johnson, Iowa State University ag economist, and Brad Lubben, UNL extension farm policy specialist. Topics will include crop insurance, marketing, and ACRE, SURE and other important components of the farm bill.

Producers have two options for accessing this program. You can attend a real-time, web-based presentation at the Blue Hill Community Center, facilitated by UNL Extension Educator Dewey Lienemann, or you can access it live on-line via a computer with Internet access.

The meeting is sponsored by UNL Extension in Webster County and Glenwood Telephone Membership Corporation who is providing the technology for extended program access.
