Biofuels Forum: Net Metering and the New Nebraska Law
June 24, 2009 "Net Metering, and Wind Energy Legislation" will be the topic of this month's UNL Biofuels Forum. Nebraska State Senator Ken Haar, District 21, will discuss a new law that provides for standard metering criteria for connecting to the energy grid. The discussion forum will be open online from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. this Friday.
Small renewable electricity systems have caught the interest of many homeowners, acreage owners, and farmers. The new law, authored by Haar, allows for an updated version of energy "net metering" in Nebraska for qualified facilities at or below 25 KW capacity, including methane, wind, solar, biomass, hydropower, or geothermal.
