2nd Generation European Corn Borer Scouting Spreadsheet

A new UNL Extension publication is designed to help corn growers and crop scouts scout for 2nd generation European corn borer (ECB). The Second Generation European Corn Borer Scouting Spreadsheet (EC1584) can be used in conjunction with the NebGuide Second Generation European Corn Borer Scouting and Treatment Decisions (G1783).

The spreadsheet calculates whether it would pay to treat for 2nd generation ECB in a given field situation. All calculations are automatic.  All the user has to do is input scouting information, expected yield, expected price, estimated chemical cost, and application cost.

The spreadsheet can be used on any electronic device capable of opening and using an Excel® file. Examples of compatible electronic devices include smartphones, tablets (e.g., iPad), laptop computer, and desktop computer. Both the NebGuide and Extension Circular can be found online at:
