Registration is open for the Great Plains Water Conference, featuring experts from Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Iowa, Missouri, South Dakota and North Dakota.
The conference, "Securing Water Resources for Tomorrow," will be Thursday, Sept. 18 and Friday, Sept. 19 at the Milo Bail Student Center at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
Updates will be given on water supply and water quality throughout the region. Topics include water smart communities and watersheds, water quality monitoring and treatment strategies, emerging contaminants, wellhead protection, education and outreach, basin management, and more.
This regional conference is hosted by the Nebraska Water Center and sponsored by the University of Nebraska–Lincoln's Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources and the Kansas Water Institute. Researchers, governments, nonprofits, state agencies and students are welcome to share how communities across the Great Plains are planning for their future water resources.
Register for the conference online. Regular registration through Friday, Aug. 15 is $400 and late registration after Saturday, Aug. 16, through Sept. 4, will be $450. Registration includes all sessions and meals, as well as the opening evening reception Monday, Sept. 18. Special pricing is available for students and faculty.
