Part 107 Certification Opens the Door to Professional Drone Operations

Drones are now widely used across many industries, including agriculture, construction, emergency management, natural resources, real estate, infrastructure inspection, and public safety. For most professional and commercial drone operations, pilots are required to hold an FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate. Nebraska Extension’s Part 107 Remote Pilot Exam Prep Course is designed to help participants earn this certification.

This one-day, eight-hour course prepares attendees to take the FAA Aeronautical Knowledge Exam. Course topics include FAA regulations, airspace classifications, weather fundamentals, radio communications, and safe flight operations. The course is structured for individuals with little or no aviation background and provides clear guidance for operating legally within the National Airspace System.

Holding a Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate allows pilots to conduct work-related drone operations, request airspace authorizations, and understand operational limitations and responsibilities. Whether flying for mapping, inspections, photography, research, or public safety applications, certification helps ensure pilots are operating safely and in compliance with FAA regulations.

Nebraska Extension offers this course at multiple locations across the state in response to strong demand from a wide range of professionals. Participants receive instructor-led training and study materials to confidently prepare for the FAA exam.

Businesses seeking to train employees for Part 107 certification may request a custom course for corporate groups of four or more, with discounted group pricing. Organizations select the dates, and training is delivered on-site for an efficient and convenient certification experience. Applications for locations outside Nebraska are also accepted.
