Nebraska grain stocks increased overall heading into March, led by gains in corn and soybean inventories. On-farm storage rose, especially for corn and soybean, while off-farm corn and sorghum stocks declined. Wheat stocks remained relatively steady, and oat stocks increased, though at smaller volumes. The data indicate larger supplies for major crops and a shift toward more grain being held on farm.

Nebraska corn stocks in all positions on March 1, 2024 totaled 1.02 billion bushels, up 9% from 2025, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. Of the total, 620 million bushels are stored on farms, up 24% from a year ago. Off-farm stocks, at 410 million bushels, are down 7% from last year.

Soybean stored in all positions totaled 175 million bushels, up 20% from last year. On-farm stocks of 48.0 million bushels are up 22% from a year ago, and off-farm stocks, at 127 million bushels, are up 20% from 2025.
