After concerns were raised following the Oct. 9, 2026, Crop Production report, NASS found a processing error that affected September corn plant populations, ear counts, yields, and production for Kansas and Nebraska. The error also affected the Sept.10-state averages for plant populations and ear counts, along with U.S. corn yield and production forecasts.

NASS has corrected the affected September data and forecasts in the Crop Production reports and Quick Stats. The October forecasts published on Oct. 9 were reviewed, validated, and have not changed.

All NASS reports will be available at nass.usda.gov/Publications.
