Nebraska farmers and ranchers looking to strengthen their financial decision-making skills can attend free “Understanding Your Financial Documents” workshops Sept. 23 in Ord and Sept. 24 in Curtis.
The workshops are a partnership between Nebraska Extension and the Nebraska Rural Response Hotline and are designed to help producers better understand their financial numbers and use them to make important business decisions. They are the first in a series of workshops planned over the next eight months as agricultural producers continue to navigate challenging financial conditions.
Participants will learn about balance sheets, cash flow statements, income statements and financial ratios, along with goal setting and communication.
Both workshops will be held from 9 a.m. to noon:
- Wednesday, Sept. 23 — Ord: Nebraska Extension in Valley County, 801 S St.
- Thursday, Sept. 24 — Curtis: NCTA Education Center, 608 Wallace Ave.
The workshops are free, but registration is required. To register, contact the Nebraska Rural Response Hotline at 800-464-0258.
The Nebraska Rural Response Hotline provides free assistance and resources to farmers, ranchers and rural residents experiencing difficult circumstances.
The workshops are supported by the Southern Extension Risk Management Education Center and the USDA Farm Service Agency.
