Reclaim your pastures from cedar trees — producers are invited to attend a free Cedar Tree Management Meeting at 5 p.m. CST. Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2026, in Trenton. The meeting will address the growing problem of eastern red cedar encroachment on Nebraska rangelands, including impacts on production and wildlife, how the trees grow and spread, strategies for management, wildfire mitigation for rural homes, and available cost assistance programs.
