Manure application equipment operates in a field, with machinery pumping and incorporating liquid manure during a live demonstration on nutrient management practices.
From drag hose systems and tankers to lagoon agitators and solid spreaders, the North American Manure Expo gives producers a firsthand look at the equipment and technologies driving modern manure management.

The North American Manure Expo continues to distinguish itself as one of the few events dedicated entirely to manure management, covering every step from the barn to field application. In addition to the trade show, tours and educational sessions, a hallmark of this expo is its emphasis on live equipment demonstrations, giving producers and custom applicators the opportunity to evaluate machine performance under real-world conditions before making purchasing decisions.

Demonstrations are a central focus because they allow people to see firsthand how manure is handled, transported and applied — and how those practices may influence soil conditions, nutrient availability and crop productivity. Whether considering drag hose systems, tankers or solid spreaders, seeing equipment in operation provides valuable insight that static displays simply cannot match.

Producers will have the opportunity to see the following North American Manure Expo demonstrations firsthand July 28-30 at the Wayne County Fairgrounds in Wayne, Nebraska.

July 29 Highlights: Liquid Systems and Agitation

The morning of Wednesday, July 29 will focus on liquid manure application. Attendees will see tanker-style applicators from Oxbo and Nuhn, along with drag hose toolbar systems from DSI and Zimmerman Manufacturing. A pipe bridge system, designed to allow manure transfer across roadways without disrupting traffic, will also be demonstrated. The morning demonstrations conclude with manure handling safety instruction.

In the afternoon, attention shifts to agitation of stored manure. Bazooka Farmstar and Nuhn will operate lagoon agitation equipment in a working dairy lagoon near the expo grounds. These demonstrations provide a look at how manure is mixed prior to pumping and application — an important step for nutrient consistency.

NutraDrip will also demonstrate separation technology designed to divide solids from liquids, allowing for liquid portion to flow through a pipe or hose to a center pivot or subsurface drip system and the solids to be applied in a different field or composted.

July 30 Highlights: Solid Systems and Safety

The morning of July 30 will feature solid manure handling. SmithCo will showcase a side dump trailer, while LG Singapore will demonstrate a biodigester system. Field demonstrations will include a range of tractor-pulled and truck-mounted spreaders from Rief Design, Artex Manufacturing, Greenfield Spreading, Oxbo, Pik Rite, and more.

Safety returns as the focus in the afternoon, including demonstrations of pressurized hose risks during cleanout and proper spill response procedures to limit downstream environmental impact and minimize cleanup costs.

A convenient demonstration field located across the road from the main expo grounds ensures accessibility. The alfalfa field site is expected to provide adequate footing even under wet conditions, and transportation will be available for attendees who prefer not to walk.
