Free Testing of Wheat for Ergot -- UNL CropWatch, July 15, 2011

This year ergot occurred in several wheat growing areas in the state, especially in south central and southeast Nebraska. If you would like a free ergot test of your wheat, drop off a sample to your nearest extension office or mail the sample to:

The sample size should be at least two quarts. A suitable container is a 1 gallon Ziploc bag.
Samples should be submitted by Aug. 1 and include the following information:
- Name
- Address
- County
- Wheat variety if known
