Nitrogen Management Suggestions for Corn Updated in EC117, EC155, and EC2008

The Nebraska Extension Circulars, Nutrient Management Suggestions for Corn (EC117), Nutrient Management for Agronomic Crops in Nebraska (EC155), and Irrigation and Nitrogen Management (EC2008) have been updated. The updated publications provide information about a newly developed web-based nitrogen (N) recommendation tool for corn grain, adapted from our previous N recommendation equation. Recommendation information for other nutrients remains unchanged.

The updated extension circulars can be downloaded for free at the following links:

The newly developed web-based N tool is designed to increase efficiency of nitrogen use, as well as ease of record-keeping. The tool is available as both a mobile app and a web tool. The N recommendations are based on expected yield, soil nutrient availability, residual nitrate, soil type, soil organic matter, water use, fertilizer cost and time of application. Access this tool directly on CropWatch. It’s that easy!
