Crop Production Roadshow to Tour West Central Nebraska in Mid-January

Nebraska Extension is hosting its second annual Crop Production Roadshow in January 2019. This Roadshow is a series of meetings across west-central Nebraska focusing on production issues and research updates specific to the region. Extension educators will present updates on a number of topics, including soil improvement, cover crops, nutrient management, weed identification, herbicide strategies, and crop marketing and trends. This educational program is free and open to the public, but RSVPs to the host extension educator are requested in advance.

Meetings will be held

  • January 15 – Ogallala at the Keith County Fairgrounds, Activities Building (1000 W. 3rd St.); RSVP by Friday, January 11 to Chuck Burr at 308-696-6783 or chuck.burr@unl.edu.
  • January 16  – Curtis at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture, Ag Education Center Auditorium (404 E. 7th St.); RSVP by Monday, January 14 to Kat Caswell at 308-345-3390 or kcaswell2@unl.edu
  • January 23 – Grand Island at the Hall County Extension Office, College Park (3180 W. Hwy 34). RSVP by Tuesday, January 22 to Sarah Sivits at 308-324-5501 or sarah.sivits@unl.edu.
  • January 25 – Holdrege at the Phelps County Fairgrounds, Ag Center (1308 2nd St.); RSVP to Todd Whitney at 308-995-4222 or twhitney3@unl.edu by Wednesday, January 23.

At each event on-site registration opens at 12:45 p.m. with the meeting beginning at 1 p.m. and ending about 4 p.m. Preregistration is encouraged to ensure enough handouts are available. Certified Crop Advisor CEU credits have been applied for.
