Teachers attending the Lindsay conference
Sixty-eight agricultural education instructors from across the state recently participated in UNL Extension's Excellence in Ag Sciences Day, a one-day conference to transfer research-based, cutting edge information, technology and tools to high school teachers.
The conference, which was held at Lindsay and Gothenburg, provided teachers the knowledge and skills needed to transfer agricultural water management information to their students, along with providing equipment needed for the experiential learning to occur. In addition to irrigation management, participants became familiar with sustainable water conservation practices that preserve water quality.
The Excellence in Ag Sciences: Water Resource Education project was made possible by a $70,000 grant from the Nebraska Environmental Trust.
