Product Updates
The Environmental Protection Agency has approved new guidelines for application of the Syngenta Crop Protection fungicides Quilt and Tilt on wheat. Both fungicides can be applied up to Feekes growth stage 10.5 (full heading). The 45-day pre-harvest interval restriction has been removed.
Two new fungicides are now registered for control of Fusarium head blight (scab). These fungicides are Prosaro (Bayer CropScience) and Caramba (BASF Ag Products). The optimum application timing for control of Fusarium head blight is early to 50% flowering.
The re-entry interval for Stratego (Bayer CropScience) has been reduced from 24 hours to 12 hours.
Table 1 presents a partial list of wheat fungicides, the target diseases, application timing, and other pertinent information. Always read and follow label instructions and restrictions before buying and/or applying a fungicide.
