USDA: Nebraska Grain Stocks as of June 1

Corn stocks in all positions on June 1, 2008 totaled395 million bushels, up 7% from June 1, 2007, according to the USDA's NationalAgricultural Statistics Service, Nebraska Field Office. Of the total, 180 million bushels arestored on farms, unchanged from a year ago. Off-farm stocks, at 215 million bushels, are up14% from last year.
Soybeans stored in all positions on June 1, 2008, totaled 55 million bushels, down48% from last year but still the fourth highest on record. On-farm stocks are 12 millionbushels, down 68% from a year ago. Off-farm stocks, at 43 million bushels, are down38% from 2007.
Wheat stored in all positions on June 1, 2008, totaled 9.9 million bushels, down27% from a year ago and the lowest since 1952. On-farm stocks of 200 thousand bushelsare a record low and down 71% from 2007. Off-farm stocks of 9.7 million bushels aredown 25% from last year and lowest since 1952.
Sorghum stored in all positions on June 1, 2008, totaled 9.4 million bushels, up 8%from 2007. On-farm stocks are 1.1 million bushels, unchanged from a year ago. Off-farmstocks, at 8.3 million bushels, are 10% above last year.
