USDA: Nebraska Grain Stocks

Corn. Old crop corn stocks in all positions on September 1 totaled 167 million bushels, up 8% from September 1, 2007. Of the total stocks, 48 million bushels are stored on farm, up 2% from a year ago. Off-farm holdings of 119 million bushels are up 10% from 2007.
Soybeans. Old crop soybeans stored in all positions totaled 14.9 million bushels, down 75% from last year. On-farm stocks of 2.1 million bushels are down 78% from 2007. Off-farm stocks of 12.8 million bushels are down 74% from last year's holdings.
Wheat. Wheat stored in all positions totaled 58.6 million bushels, down 13% from a year ago. On-farm stocks of 8 million bushels are unchanged from 2007. Off-farm stocks, at 50.6 million bushels, are down 15% from last year.
Sorghum. Old crop sorghum stored in all positions totaled 7.2 million bushels, more than double last year. On-farm stocks of 400 thousand bushels are twice the level of a year ago and off-farm stocks, at 6.8 million bushels, are more than double 2007.
