For January, temperatures averaged well above normal while precipitation was well below normal across most of Nebraska. Most areas received less than 0.25 inch of moisture and had no snow cover.
On January 30, wheat condition was reported as 4% excellent, 61% good, 32% fair, and 3% poor, well above the reported condition at this point last year.
Hay and forage supplies were rated 5% short, 93% adequate, and 2% surplus, near levels from last year.
