Corn condition rated 1% very poor, 2% poor, 17% fair, 55% good, and 25% excellent, well above last year's 61% good or excellent rating, according to the July 9 report from USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service, Nebraska Field Office. Irrigated fields rated 90% good or excellent while dryland fields declined and rated 67%, both above year-ago levels. Corn silked was 27%, ahead of last year's 24% and 14% average.

Soybean conditions rated 0% very poor, 2% poor, 22% fair, 60% good, and 16% excellent, well above last year's 50% good or excellent condition. Soybeans blooming were at 36%, behind last year's 47% but ahead of the 31% average. Soybeans setting pods was 3%, near last year and average.

Wheat condition rated 4% very poor, 13% poor, 27% fair, 44% good, and 12% excellent. Ripe wheat was at 78%, well behind last year's 93% but ahead of the 74% average. Wheat harvested was 41%, behind last year's 76% and 49% average.

Alfalfa condition rated 2% very poor, 7% poor, 31% fair, 47% good, and 13% excellent, well above last year's 36% good or excellent condition. Second cutting was 56% complete, behind last year's 72%, but ahead of the 53% average.

Oat conditions rated 0% very poor, 3% poor, 27% fair, 64% good, and 6% excellent, well above last year's 24% good or excellent condition. Harvested oats was 16%, behind last year's 33% and 18% average.

Sorghum conditions rated 1% very poor, 2% poor, 20% fair, 66% good, and 11% excellent, well above last year's 53% good or excellent condition.

Dry bean conditions rated 0% very poor, 2% poor, 18% fair, 77% good and 3% excellent, well ahead of last year's 53% good or excellent condition. Dry beans blooming were 14%, ahead of last year's 7% and average.

Wild hay conditions rated 4% very poor, 2% poor, 20% fair, 63% good and 11% excellent, well above last year's 19% good or excellent condition.
