The UNL Weed Science Web site at http://weedscience.unl.edu has been redesigned to provide more services for users. (This is the same address as the previous site so existing bookmarks will still work.)
The new home page includes:
- A Current Topics section listing timely articles on weed management issues (Figure 1, Box 1).
- An easy to access collection of UNL and external weed science publications in PDF format (Figure 1, Box 2).
- Sortable herbicide efficacy tables from the 2008 Guide for Weed Management Guide (Figure 1, Box 3).

Using the Sortable Herbicide Efficacy Tables
The herbicide tables from the 2008 Guide for Weed Management have been formatted to allow the user to sort herbicide efficacy by weed species. When a user clicks on a weed species the table will reorder, placing herbicides with the highest efficacy for the selected species at the top and the lowest efficacy at the bottom (Figure 2, Box 1). Each time a user clicks on a different weed species, the table will reorder. The corn and turf tables are currently active. Tables for other crops will be activated as they are completed.
Figure 2. Users can select the weed they are most interested in controlling and the on-line table will reorder to show products in the order of their efficacy. |
Annual UNL weed science research reports can be accessed by clicking on "research" in the navigation bar. This table of research reports can also be reordered by clicking on the column titles to improve searchability.
Links to other weed science resources have been updated on the "resources" page. This page provides quick access to herbicide label and MSDS information, weed identification resources, information on herbicide resistance and more.
