Farmland rental rates are a popular topic among growers and their landlords, generating a number of calls each year to Extension experts.

The Land Lease Calculator is designed to help producers collect the right data and determine what might be charged for an agricultural land lease, said Wayne Ohnesorg, extension educator in Madison County.
Users enter data into the app and it produces an estimated cost for the lease. The app costs $1.99 and is available in the Apple iTunes Store and is expectd to be available soon in Google Play.
It also works very well for landlords because it gives them an idea of how much renters might be willing to pay," said Ohnesorg.
Ultimately, the landlord and tenant determine the appropriate leasing price, but this app can give them a starting point, Ohnesorg said.
Production of the app was funded by the Nebraska Soybean Board.
