Panhandle No-Till Conference Nov. 18-19

Experienced and novice no-tillers can gain valuable information on managing no-till production systems in western Nebraska at the 2008 Panhandle No-Till Partnership Conference this week.
It will be held from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Nov. 18-19 at the Gering Civic Center at 1050 M St.
Speakers will include successful no-till producers, agency representatives, and university researchers. No-till topics will include:
- Equipment considerations
- Fertility
- On-farm wheat trials
- Cows and crops
- Chemicals
- Trials in Banner County
- Soil and water
- Irrigation savings
- Population-based weed management
The Panhandle No-Till Partnership, newly organized in 2008, is a joint effort of the Natural Resources conservation Service; North Platte, South Platte, and Upper Niobrara-White Natural Resources Districts (NRD), and the Panhandle Resource Conservation and Development, Inc. (RC&D). Its mission is to bring producers educational support, knowledge, and practical use techniques for continuous no-tillage cropping practices.
