Extreme temperatures during the growing season can wreak havoc on crops. We may not be able to control the weather, but researchers with UNL's Center for Plant Science Innovation are working toward developing crops with greater resistance to heat, cold, drought and other climate extremes. Rebecca Roston, Raikes professor of biochemistry, is working toward crop varieties with improved resistance to cold temperatures. Roston appeared on RFD-TV to talk about these efforts, and why they matter.
