The following new or revised ag publications were recently released by UNL Extension and are available on the UNL Extension Publications website.

• G479 Pesticide Laws and Regulations (G479, revised). The NebGuide provides general information on federal and state laws and regulations regarding pesticide applicator training, licensing, and pesticide use in Nebraska.
   
• RP189 Agricultural Nitrogen Management for Water Quality Protection in the Midwest (RP189, revised). An overview of factors influencing nitrogen loss to ground and surface waters in the four-state Heartland region of Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska, including nitrogen in the environment and the implications of agricultural nitrogen management practices for nitrogen loss to ground and surface water.
   
• G1713 Fertilizer Management for Dry Edible Beans (Revised). Soil sampling and proper nitrogen fertilization of dry beans will help producers obtain consistent top yields.
   
• G1736 Rinsing Pesticide Containers (Revised). Proper rinsing of pesticide containers is important in protecting the environment, saving money, and meeting federal and state regulations.
   
• EC716 Long-Term (1893-2012) Changes in Air Temperature, Relative Humidity and Vapor Pressure Deficit (Atmospheric Evaporative Demand) in Central Nebraska (New). Long-term analyses of trends and magnitudes of several climatic variables directly linked to agricultural and agro-ecosystem productivity. Analyses were conducted for Central City from 1893 to 2012.
   
• EC717 Long-Term (1893-2012) Changes in Monthly, Growing Season, and Annual Precipitation Trends and Magnitudes in Central Nebraska (New). Long-term changes in monthly, growing season, and annual precipitation trends and magnitudes in central Nebraska.
   
• EC1586 Potato/Tomato Psyllid Pest Profiles — Psyllid Identification and Charactersitics (New). Photos and descriptions to help identify the adult psyllid.
   
• EC1905 Zebra Chip Disease Profiles I — Foliar Symptoms (New). Zebra Chip is a new foliar disease affecting potatoes in eight U.S. states, including Nebraska. Description details and management options are included.
   
• EC1906 Zebra Chip Disease Profiles II — Tuber Symptoms (New). Zebra chip is a new foliar disease that has been reported in eight states, including Nebraska. This publication describes tuber symptoms and management options.
   
• G1370 Abandonment Planning for Earthen Manure Storages, Holding Ponds, and Anaerobic Lagoons (Revised). The purpose of this NebGuide is to define some critical issues to be addressed by an abandonment plan of an earthan manure storage, anaerobic lagoon or runoff holding pond.

• G1371 Sludge Management for Anaerobic Lagoons and Runoff Holding Ponds (Revised). The purpose of this NebGuide is to define critical issues to be addressed by a sludge and sediment management plan for anerobic lagoons and outdoor lot holding ponds.
