Dave Stenberg, Extension Educator in Dawson County: Soybean harvest here is close to being finished. Yield reports have been a bit less than anticipated, but still good. Irrigated yields have been reported in the 50-80+ range. Corn harvested for silage and high moisture corn is complete with 4-5 million bushels harvested. Corn harvest is continuing with selected field of early maturing corn. Irrigated yields being reported are good with many yields in the 200-240+ bushel per acre level. Storage is going to be a premium this year with much corn piled on the ground. Anticipated delays at grain elevators are expected when corn harvest reaches its peak.

Paul Hay, Extension Educator in Gage County: Harvest progress has been good despite rains. Soybean and corn harvest is past 50% complete and wheat planting is progressing well. Some producers have been disappointed with 100 bushel per acre dryland corn while noting that the combination of hybrid improvement and no-till are giving them 100 bushel cornwhen 15 years ago the yields would have been near zero with a two month period of no rain.
