Final production for the 2023 potato crop totaled 10.7 million cwt, up 11% from 2022, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. Planted acres for 2023 totaled 22,000, up 10% from 2022. Harvested area, at 21,900 acres, was up 10% from the previous year. Yield for all potatoes averaged 490 cwt in 2023, 5 cwt per acre higher than the 2022 average yield. 

The value of potatoes sold from the 2023 crop totaled $127 million, up 13% from 2022. The marketing year average price was $13.10 per cwt, up from $12.80 for the 2022 crop. 

Potatoes sold from the 2023 crop totaled 9.73 million cwt, up 11% from 2022. Sales accounted for 91% of production, unchanged from the 2022 crop.
