Nebraska Crop Production Report for July 2024

Based on July 1 conditions, Nebraska's winter wheat production is forecast at 48.6 million bushels, up 31% from last year, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. Average yield is forecast at 54 bushels per acre, up 12 bushels from 2023. Area to be harvested for grain is estimated at 900,000 acres, up 2% from a year ago.

Oat production is forecast at 1.92 million bushels, up 51% from last year. Average yield is forecast at 60 bushels per acre, up 7 bushels from 2023. Area to be harvested for grain is estimated at 32,000 acres, up 33% from a year ago.
