For the week ending Dec. 31, 2023, topsoil moisture supplies rated 17% very short, 35% short, 44% adequate and 4% surplus, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 28% very short, 38% short, 34% adequate and 0% surplus.
