2023 Ag Day on Jan. 31 to Focus on Farm Succession Planning

The University of Nebraska Extension wants to help you take your farm to the next level with topics relating to 2023 corn and soybean insect and plant disease updates, “How to Think Through Passing Your Farm On” and much more.

The 2023 Ag Day will be held Tuesday, Jan. 31 at the Ag Auditorium, Hamilton County Fairgrounds in Aurora, Nebraska, starting at 9 a.m. with breakfast refreshments and time to view the display booths. The presentations will start at 9:30 a.m. and conclude about 3:45 p.m. The event has a great lineup of several excellent speakers focusing on production ag updates and farm/ranch transition and succession. Ag Day is consistently ranked by the farmers that attend as one of the best educational ag events.

The educational program, sponsored by Nebraska Extension, begins at 9:30 a.m. and includes the following presentations:

  • Nebraska corn update
  • USDA updates
  • 2023 corn and soybean insect update
  • "Finding the Easy Button for Irrigation Scheduling"
  • 2023 corn and soybean plant disease update
  • "How to Think Through Passing Your Farm On"
  • "Basics to Start Planning Your Wills, Trusts, and Other End of Life Decisions"

“The mission of the event is to help you take your farm to the next level by bringing cutting edge ideas and technology through educational speakers” said Steve Melvin, Nebraska Extension cropping systems educator and event coordinator for the 2023 Ag Day. “The day is free of charge to the participants thanks to our sponsors and exhibitors. Our noon meal sponsor is AKRS in Aurora.”
