FarmBits Podcast: Potato Protection Perspectives

In this week’s episode of FarmBits Podcast, CSS Farms, Inc. Agronomists Seth Gurley and Jessie Ziems join podcast hosts Samantha Teten and Jackson Stansell to discuss the complexities of potato protection and how they are leveraging digital tools, such as the Prospera pivot-mounted camera system, Taranis, and Canopio (a crop canopy quantification tool) and other advanced technologies to combat pest pressure across the CSS Farms operation — specifically at the Columbus, Nebraska location. Gurley and Ziems also chat about the company’s current experimentation with digitally controlled high-speed pivot systems such as the Pivot Bot, and highlight how these tools are enabling new options and more comprehensive management practices that help ensure their crop's yield and quality in a complex production system.
