Free December Webinars: Farm Tax Law Changes and Farm Program and Policy Update

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Department of Agricultural Economics’ Farm and Ranch Management team is presenting two free webinars in December focusing on tax law changes for 2020 and an update on farm program and ag policy in light of a new administration in Washington.

These webinars are part of a larger series of webinars focusing on management, profitability, economic outlook and farm survival. Recordings of past webinars are also available.  

The free webinars will be held on Zoom and will run for approximately one hour. Registration is open to everyone until the start of each session.

Farm Tax Law Changes for 2020

As farmers and ranchers prepare to file 2020 taxes, new updates to tax law in 2020 are important to be aware of. Tina Barrett will summarize these changes, including the many new considerations under the CARES Act, and discuss how they impact tax returns for the year.

As the calendar turns to 2021, agricultural producers and professionals are preparing for a new Administration in Washington, new leadership on the agricultural committees in Congress, and new directions for farm policy and farm program decisions. This webinar will update farm program information and highlight the new program decisions in 2021 for producers. Then, the discussion will focus on several key policy issues in light of the changing policy landscape in DC and the implications for agriculture. Cathy Anderson from the Nebraska Farm Service Agency and Brad Lubben from UNL Department of Agricultural Economics will present the webinar and share information relevant for producers, ag professionals, and ag stakeholders.
