Ag Expo and Poultry Manure Workshop Coming to Butler County in February

Producers in Butler County have the opportunity to participate in two upcoming events, both in David City.

Butler County Ag Expo

Feb. 11th from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
David City Event Center

The Butler County Ag Expo will be held Feb. 11th. The event will consist of exhibitor's booths, with door prizes and drawings in the morning, a free lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with guest speaker Allan Vyhnalek Nebraska Extension Educator presenting on "Ag Land Leasing for 2020". In addition, a Nitrogen Certification/Water Conservation Class will be offered by the Lower Platte North, NRD starting at 9:30 a.m. The expo will finish up with private pesticide training by Nebraska Extension starting at 1 p.m. Attendance is free.

Is poultry manure right for your cropping operation? Join us for the free Optimizing Poultry Manure Value in Cropping Systems workshop at the Hruska Library in David City, NE. Learn about manure land application and how it could benefit your operation as presented by the UNL Manure Management team.

This program will cover background information on poultry facilities and raising poultry, utilizing poultry manure for crop production, a panel discussion with producers currently using broiler manure in their cropping systems, odor risk and land application regulations. With many boiler poultry facility being constructed in our area, this is a great opportunity to come learn and ask questions from UNL experts in manure management.
