Soybeans 74% Harvested; Corn, 47%
As of Sunday 74% of the state's soybeans were harvested and 47% of its corn, according to the USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service, who reported five days were suitable for field work during the previous week.
That compares to 86% of soybeans harvested by this time last year and 90% for the five-year average. For corn, it compares to 42% last year, but 55% for the five-year average.
A week ago USDA NASS reported 54% of soybeans and 34% of corn had been harvested.
Corn condition is rated 2% very poor, 5% poor, 14% fair, 46% good, and 33% excellent.
Winter wheat condition rated 2% very poor, 6% poor, 21% fair, 50% good, and 21% excellent. Winter wheat planted was 96% percent, near 97% last year and 99% average. Emerged was 89%, near 86% last year and the average of 93%.
Sorghum condition rated 1% very poor, 1% poor, 12% fair, 56% good, and 30% excellent. Sorghum harvested was 59%, ahead of 45% last year, but near the average of 61%.
Pasture and range conditions rated 1% very poor, 3% poor, 18% fair, 61% good, and 17% excellent.
