Winter wheat condition rated 1% very poor, 5% poor, 43% fair, 39% good, and 12% excellent, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service Nebraska Crop report released April 2.

Oats planting was 10% complete, behind 25% last year and 20% for the five-year average.

Topsoil moisture supplies rated 2% very short, 18% short, 73% adequate, and 7% surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 2% very short, 23% short, 73% adequate, and 2% surplus.
