Crop Diseases Confirmed by the Plant and Pest Diagnostic Clinic

The following diseases were reported in samples submitted to the UNL Plant and Pest Diagnostic Lab from May 15 – June 7.

Soybean

East District – Rhizoctonia damping off, Pythium damping off, Phytophthora root and stem rot

Southeast District – Phytophthora root and stem rot

Southwest District – Rhizoctonia damping off, Phytophthora root and stem rot

Corn

East District – Rhizoctonia root rot, Pythium damping off, Holcus Spot

Southeast District – Gray leaf spot, Bacterial leaf streak

Southwest District – Fusarium root rot, Bacterial leaf streak

Wheat

East District – Black chaff/bacterial stripe, Septoria leaf spot, Tan Spot, Stagnospora Blotch, Powedery Mildew, Stripe rust, Leaf rust, Sooty Head Molds, Loose smut, Common bunt, Fusarium head blight

Southwest District – Black chaff/Bacterial stripe
