Dicamba Changes for 2018

By J. David Aiken - Extension Water and Agricultural Law Specialist

Dicamba injury

Recently the US Environmental Protection Agency announced voluntary label changes for dicamba to take effect for the 2018 crop. The label changes will make dicamba a Restricted Use Pesticide, which would require dicamba applicators to be certified. Dicamba use restrictions will be discussed in this winter’s Pesticide Applicator Certification Training. Contact your local Nebraska Extension office for more information on pesticide applicator and certification training opportunities this winter or watch for the schedule in CropWatch.

More information on the dicamba changes is available in a blog post, What will dicamba changes mean for farmers?, from Ohio State Ag Law specialist Peggy Hall.
