Nebraska Extension Seminars at Nebraska Power Farming Show

"Trends in Farmland Values and Rental Rates" is just one of the seminars being presented by Nebraska Extension at this week's Nebraska Power Farming Show in Lincoln.

The event, billed as the second largest indoor farm show in the US, will be held Dec. 6-8 at the Lancaster Event Center.  Following is the schedule for the Extension seminars to be held in Pavilion 3, rooms 1 and 2.

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 6

    “Economic Opportunities with Alternative Crops” with Rex Nelson, UNL Extension Educator

    “Selecting and Managing Cover Crops” with Paul Jasa, UNL Extension Engineer. Before selecting a cover crop specie or cocktail, producers must determine why they want to plant a cover crop and what resource concern they are trying to address.  The management of the cover crop varies greatly depending on the desired function.  This presentation will give an overview of selecting, seeding, terminating, and other management suggestions to ensure success.
